Elsy Orellana, DMD, MS

Dr. Orellana was raised in the Sunshine State in Port Richey. She began her educational journey at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She went on to complete the rigorous Masters in Biomedical Sciences at USF. Dr. Orellana obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Orellana completed her 3-year post-graduate training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina specializing in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry while also earning her Masters of Science in Dentistry. During this time, she was recognized with the Billy M. Pennel Award and as a Balint Orban Memorial Competition finalist for her research on the pathogenicity of P. gingivalis in periodontal disease. She has completed the demanding board examination process administered by the American Board of Periodontology, becoming Board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery.

To achieve Diplomate status, the highest level of recognition awarded by the speciality, she completed written as well as oral examinations with a panel of internationally respected peers.

Dr. Orellana’s practice philosophy is based on fostering an environment of trust with her patients. She is fluent in Spanish and strives to provide high quality comprehensive treatment to the greater Tampa Bay Area. In her spare time, Dr. Orellana enjoys trying new restaurants and finding time with her family.
